The village of Cults has a wide spectrum of good quality shops and services within easy walking distance from the Cults Hotel.

Banking facilities are available at the Clydesdale Bank and Bank of Scotland, place of worship - Cults Parish church is on the corner of North Deeside Road and Quarry Road, a Veterinary Practice, Private Dental Practice and Cults Medical Centre.

At the rear of the hotel is Cults Tennis Club, established in 1887 and around the corner heading into Aberdeen, you’ll find Cults Bowling Club. Horse riding is also available at Hayfield Riding School, less than 10 minutes from the hotel.

There are many walks in and around the area. On the door-step is the Old Deeside Railway Line, which once served the Royal family on their route to Balmoral, offering pleasant views across the Dee valley. The Old Deeside Line stretches from the city centre, past Cults to Peterculter. At Milltimber, one of the old station buildings can be seen, now transformed into a private dwelling house.

Take a stroll along the banks of the River Dee, famous for its salmon fishing, and enjoy the evening sunshine on the hills of upper Deeside.

The Allan park is quietly tucked away close to Deeside Golf Club where local cricket matches take place on the green during the summer season. It is a peaceful spot where one can stop for a while and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings.

Only five minutes drive to the west lies Deeside Golf Club. This 27 hole facility nestles in the valley tucked quietly behind residential housing in Bieldside. The management will be pleased to arrange tee times for guests, depending on availability at the club.
